The Shademaker Infinity Umbrella Base provides freestanding support for large centerpost and cantilever umbrellas in a low-profile design. A galvanized steel frame holds the included galvanized steel weight plates, while a rounded square aluminum lid conceals them for a clean, finished appearance. Choose a 415-, 565- or 715-pound version according to your umbrella's model, size and canopy shape.
All three versions measure 44.5 inches square and 1.8 inches high. The wide, shallow housing keeps the weights close to the ground without a tall enclosure, but its footprint needs to be accounted for when planning table spacing and seating arrangements. Choose a powder-coated lid in Shadow Graphite, Architectural Bronze or Arctic White to coordinate with the umbrella frame and surrounding furniture.
When to Choose Infinity
Choose Infinity when you want a low-profile base with its weights concealed beneath a finished lid. Its separate steel plates are more manageable to carry individually than full-size Z-Plate plates, making it worth considering where access involves stairs or tight passages. The components are still heavy, and Infinity typically costs more than Z-Plate. Weigh the appearance and handling benefits against your project budget and the space available for its 44.5-inch-square footprint.
Z-Plate offers a simpler steel plate design and generally costs less, but each solid plate weighs 115 or 225 pounds and must be moved into position.
Titan can be a lower-cost alternative when suitable ballast pavers are readily available locally. Its housing is taller, and the separately purchased pavers add to the total installed cost.
The steel weights are supplied with the base, so there is no need to source ballast separately. Plan the final position before assembly. The frame, lid and weight plates can be carried separately and assembled at the installation site, but the fully weighted base should not be moved. Shademaker recommends two-person assembly and disassembly.
