Since 1906, the Lloyd Manufacturing Company has produced heirloom wicker patio furniture in Menominee, Michigan. The company's success has been due, in part, to its unique weaving process, which received a U.S. patent in 1917.
Lloyd Loom - Durable Woven Fiber
Over the years, Lloyd Flanders has improved upon its original weave technology. Twisted cellulose strands are dipped in glue to prevent unraveling and the fibers are reinforced with aluminum wire for additional strength and resiliency. After the weaving process, the wicker is submerged in resin and baked to form a protective, yet flexible, moisture-resistant coating. Next, the wicker is contoured over a sturdy aluminum frame and finished with a high-performance Durium® Polyester Coating. This innovative manufacturing technique gives Lloyd Flanders outdoor furniture versatility and all-weather durability that stands apart from traditional rattan and other synthetic wicker.
Stylish Table Tops & Other High-End Materials
A few of Lloyd Flanders' patio furniture sets are woven using vinyl. The 100% virgin vinyl wicker strands are reinforced with nylon cord for additional strength, fade-resistance and superior outdoor performance. Lastly, their elegant dining tables and coffee tables have tops made of glass, travertine or eco-friendly teak.
Premium Outdoor Cushion System
Most Lloyd Flanders collections have multi-layer foam cushions that are exceptionally comfortable and resilient to the elements. They incorporate 1.5 density High Resilience California Fire Rated Foam that includes a Bio Comfort® Foam Core. The eco-friendly foam utilizes soy-based products - reducing petroleum dependency. This foam core is wrapped with 100% polyester fiber, which is then encompassed by a hydrophobic polypropylene jacket. The combined properties of these components enables Lloyd Flanders outdoor cushions to resist mildew and bacteria, and drain quickly.
