NOTE - Be sure to confirm the minimum weight requirements for your umbrella, along with any mounting components needed. Pavers are not included
The Shademaker Titan Umbrella Base provides freestanding support for compatible large centerpost and cantilever umbrellas using separately purchased pavers. A galvanized steel frame holds the ballast beneath an aluminum lid, concealing the weights for a clean, finished appearance. The lid has a Shadow Graphite powder-coated finish to coordinate with your umbrella and surrounding furniture.
Titan measures 40.5 inches square and 6.4 inches high. The frame and lid weigh 118.1 pounds before ballast is added, and the base accommodates up to 32 pavers measuring 12" x 12" x 1.5". With a full paver load, Shademaker lists a total base weight of approximately 850 pounds. Pavers are not included and can be sourced from local home improvement or building supply stores.
Confirm the pavers' dimensions and actual weight before purchasing, then select enough ballast to meet the requirements for your umbrella's model, size and canopy shape. If fewer than 32 pavers are needed, distribute the weight evenly within the frame. The required ballast must be installed before the umbrella is used.
When to Choose Titan
Choose Titan when you want a concealed-weight base and can source suitable pavers locally. It can be an economical alternative to Infinity or heavier Z-Plate stacks, but include paver sourcing and delivery in your project budget and installation schedule. The frame, lid and individual pavers can be carried separately and assembled at the final location. Its housing is taller than either alternative, so account for the height and square footprint when planning table spacing and seating arrangements.
Z-Plate offers a lower-profile steel plate design, but each solid plate weighs 115 or 225 pounds and must be moved into position. Compare the cost of the complete stack required for your umbrella.
Infinity includes its steel weights beneath a low-profile aluminum lid. It avoids separate ballast sourcing, but typically costs more and has a wider footprint.
Plan the final position before assembly and choose a level, sturdy surface. Shademaker recommends two-person assembly and disassembly and warns against moving the fully assembled base. If the layout changes, remove the ballast before relocating the components.
