The Shademaker Aurora Umbrella Base provides freestanding support for compatible centerpost umbrellas in a streamlined round design. A cast aluminum shell encloses the ballast, while an included bolted stem with a self-adjusting clamp secures the umbrella pole. Built-in wheels help with repositioning around cafe terraces, pool decks and outdoor dining areas.
Choose an 80, 100 or 150-pound model according to your umbrella's pole size and base weight requirements. The 80- and 150-pound versions have concrete cores; the 100-pound model has a cast iron core. Their dimensions and finish selections also differ, so specify the complete configuration rather than choosing by weight alone.
The 80-pound Aurora is recommended for all Aquarius sizes. The 100-pound model supports Aquarius and the 6'6 and 8' Libra models. For either 9' Libra configuration, add the optional 30-pound cast iron weight to the 100-pound base for a total of 130 pounds. The 150-pound version has a larger pole receiver for Omega and Pisces Pagoda - it is not simply a heavier substitute for the smaller models.
Powder-coated finishes let you coordinate the base with umbrella frames and surrounding furniture. Choose Shadow Graphite or Urban Black for the 80-pound model, or Shadow Graphite, Architectural Bronze, Arctic White or Sand for the 100-pound version. The 150-pound base comes in Shadow Graphite.
When to Choose Aurora
Choose Aurora when you prefer a round base with an included stem and wheels for a compatible Shademaker centerpost umbrella. Its three configurations serve different umbrella sizes, while Shadow Graphite provides a consistent finish across the range for projects using several models. Base diameters increase with weight, so account for the selected version when planning table spacing and seating arrangements.
Athens offers a smaller square footprint for Aquarius and Libra, with an optional add-on weight for the 9' Libra models.
Z-Plate has a lower profile, but these centerpost umbrellas require a separately sold external stem matched to the umbrella.
Two built-in wheels make the base easier to reposition when staff rearrange outdoor seating. The base is still a substantial component, so plan delivery and access to its installation site. The optional 30-pound weight fits only the 100-pound Aurora and cannot be added to the 80- or 150-pound versions.
