This massive Foo Dog sculpture has a disinctive Chinese design and epic feel. Its body is hand-cast in fiberglass-reinforced resin with an off-white antique stone finish. It's sturdy and weather-resistant, so it will stand up to the elements and small critters.
The female version depicts a Foo Dog with her left front paw on her cub and is meant to protect the inside of the home, while the male has his right front paw on a ball and wards off danger to the outside. As one of the Three Celestial Guardians, Foo Dogs are very important in Chinese Feng Shui and there are specific guidelines for their positioning. Facing away from the home on either side of an entrance, the female should be placed on the right and the male on the left (raised paws on the inside).
The statue is available in singles or mixed pairs, and with or without pedestal bases. Due to the large scale of these sculptures, you'll need a lot of space (especially if sitting on pedestals). They're impressive when placed in gardens and around bodies of water.
