Aquarius Centerpost Umbrella from Shademaker

The Shademaker Aquarius Centerpost Umbrella provides compact shade for resort pools, oceanfront terraces and residential patios. Place it between sunloungers to create a shaded retreat after a swim or pair it with a cafe table for outdoor dining. Its slender aluminum pole and low-profile canopy give it an understated look that suits both commercial and residential settings.

Commercial-grade fiberglass ribs flex with wind gusts, helping them absorb wind loads with less risk of permanent bending. This resilience is especially useful in exposed poolside and coastal settings. Commercial-strength nylon hub and fittings support the canopy, while commercial-grade fasteners secure the fabric to the frame. The flexible ribs distinguish Aquarius from Libra, which offers a wider finish selection and counterweight-assisted closing.

Choose a 7'6 square or octagon, or a 9' octagon for broader coverage. At the same nominal 7'6 size, the square canopy provides more shade than the octagon. All three configurations are available in Silver Shadow, with Shadow Graphite also offered on the 9' octagon.

A manual push-up mechanism automatically locks the canopy open, making operation straightforward without a crank. The canopy does not tilt, so position the umbrella to shade your seating area during the hours you plan to use it. Aquarius also has a non-telescoping mast, so check that the ribs will clear tables and surrounding furniture as the canopy closes. This is especially important with the 7'6 square, whose ribs extend lower when closed than those of either octagonal model.

Coordinate the canopy with your outdoor upholstery, exterior finishes and project color palette. Awning-grade options include solution-dyed acrylic from Sunbrella® and Treasure Garden Performance. Furniture-grade solution-dyed acrylic is available from Sunbrella®, Outdura® and Tempotest® in a broad selection of colors and patterns. A protective cover is included for use when the umbrella is closed.

All three Aquarius configurations require at least 80 pounds of base weight for freestanding use. The 80-pound Aurora Base is recommended, with Athens, 100-pound Aurora and Z-Plate bases available as alternatives. Concrete and in-ground mount kits provide fixed support for permanent installations. Z-Plate bases and mount kits require an external stem, sold separately.

Aquarius has a Wind Rating of 7, corresponding to 31–38 mph, when properly installed with a Shademaker mount kit and the canopy open and horizontal. This rating is a guideline, not a guarantee, and does not apply to freestanding bases. Flexible ribs do not replace proper support or safe operation. Close and secure the canopy when winds increase or whenever the umbrella is unattended. Wind damage is not covered under warranty.
