The Shademaker Gemini Dual Sidepost Umbrella provides 200 square feet of combined shade from two opposing canopies. Its clean aluminum frame suits restaurant terraces, resort pool decks and spacious residential patios. A galvanized internal mast stem reinforces the central support, while aluminum hub and fittings connect the canopy assemblies.
Gemini places its mast between two 10' square canopies rather than behind them. This arrangement suits wide terraces with limited depth, where seating can extend to either side of the support. Use it over paired dining groups or neighboring lounge areas. For narrower spaces with more depth, a rear-mast dual-canopy design may be a better fit, particularly if its support can sit outside the patio.

Gas piston-assisted mechanisms help raise and lower the canopies without a crank, simplifying daily opening and closing. Each side operates independently, so either canopy can remain open while the other is closed. Hospitality staff can adapt the shade to occupied seating areas. At home, the separate controls let you shade a dining table, a lounge group or both.
The frame rotates 360° with eight locking positions, moving both canopies together around the mast. Neither canopy tilts. Check the full open span and the clearance needed for rotation before fixing the support location. A layout that accommodates the canopies in one position may not allow them to rotate freely near walls, planting beds or adjacent furniture.
Coordinate the canopies with upholstery, exterior finishes and project palettes. Awning-grade options include solution-dyed acrylic from Sunbrella® and Treasure Garden Performance. Furniture-grade solution-dyed acrylic is available from Sunbrella®, Outdura® and Tempotest® in a broad selection of colors and patterns. A protective cover is included for use when both canopies are folded and secured to the mast.
Permanent mounting is recommended for Gemini. Concrete and in-ground mount kits provide fixed support without a weighted base, though the central mast still needs to be accounted for in the furniture layout. For freestanding use, select an Infinity Base or stacked steel Z-Plate Base that meets the 400-pound minimum weight requirement.

Gemini has a Wind Rating of 8, corresponding to 38–46 mph, when properly installed with a Shademaker mount kit and the canopies open and horizontal. This rating is a guideline, not a guarantee, and does not apply to freestanding bases. Use freestanding installations only in light winds. Close and secure both canopies when winds increase or whenever the umbrella is unattended. Wind damage is not covered under warranty.
