Omega Centerpost Umbrella from Shademaker

The Shademaker Omega Centerpost Umbrella combines a three-tier canopy with slide-knob operation for home patios, restaurant terraces and hotel courtyards. Its layered silhouette adds visual depth above dining and lounge seating, while the telescoping design supports daily opening and closing. Commercial-strength nylon hubs and fittings and commercial-grade canopy fasteners support the canopy assembly.

Choose a 10' square or octagon, or an 11'6 octagon. Coverage ranges from 75–103 square feet. The 10' square and 11'6 octagon offer similar coverage with different footprints, so choose the shape around your furniture arrangement rather than nominal size alone. Account for the centerpost and base when planning seating and circulation.

Choose Omega when the umbrella's appearance is part of the design, whether for a private dining patio or a hotel terrace with several seating groups. Its three-tier profile creates an architectural focal point even in a neutral fabric. Where its sizes overlap Atlas, Omega offers a different silhouette and operating method: a layered canopy and slide-knob lift rather than Atlas's crank operation.

A patented slide-knob mechanism opens and closes the canopy without a crank. The three-tiered hub system provides telescoping functionality, and the mast rises as the umbrella closes. Allow room overhead: closed height ranges from approximately 9'6 to 10', depending on the configuration. Check clearance beneath eaves, pergolas and other overhead structures before positioning the umbrella.

The three-tier canopy is designed to enhance wind stability as well as shape the umbrella's appearance. Commercial-grade fasteners secure the fabric to the frame, and a protective cover is included for use when the umbrella is closed.

A neutral fabric emphasizes Omega's layered silhouette, while a richer color makes it a stronger accent above dining or lounge seating. Coordinate the canopy with upholstery, exterior finishes and project palettes. Awning-grade options include solution-dyed acrylic from Sunbrella® and Treasure Garden Performance. Furniture-grade solution-dyed acrylic is available from Sunbrella®, Outdura® and Tempotest® in a broad selection of colors and patterns.

The 150-pound Aurora is the recommended freestanding base for all three Omega configurations. Alternatives include a 225-pound steel Z-Plate with the appropriate external stem or an Infinity base. Concrete, in-ground and wood mount kits offer fixed installation options. Z-Plate and mount-kit installations require the Omega-compatible external stem, which is sold separately.

Follow Shademaker's operating and wind guidance for your installation. Close and secure the canopy when winds increase or whenever the umbrella is unattended. The three-tier canopy does not replace proper anchoring or weather precautions, and wind damage is not covered under warranty.
