The Shademaker Polaris LX Sidepost Umbrella pairs expansive shade with integrated canopy lighting for hospitality terraces, poolside lounges and upscale residential patios. Its offset mast keeps the space beneath the canopy open, giving designers more flexibility to arrange seating and maintain circulation. An aluminum frame with a galvanized internal mast stem provides durable support.
The 13' square canopy provides 172 square feet of coverage for outdoor dining arrangements and lounge groups. Integrated upward lighting casts a warm glow across the underside of the canopy rather than directing light down onto the table. This ambient effect helps define dining and lounge areas after sunset. For restaurants and hotels, it creates a visual connection between daytime seating zones and the evening setting. On residential patios, it brings a softer accent to outdoor dining and entertaining.
An external rechargeable battery pack includes a charge-level indicator and provides up to 6–8 hours of runtime. Use the remote to adjust the lighting or synchronize multiple Shademaker umbrella lights. Staff can control lighting across a hospitality terrace from a single remote, while the battery-powered design avoids the need for a power cord during use.
As daylight shifts, infinite front-to-back tilt lets you change the canopy angle. The frame rotates 360° and locks in eight positions, so shade can move between adjacent seating areas without relocating the base. A removable crank handle operates the canopy for opening and closing.
Choose high-performance canopy fabrics to complement upholstery, exterior finishes and project palettes. Sunbrella® and Treasure Garden Performance offer awning-grade solution-dyed acrylic. Furniture-grade solution-dyed acrylic is available from Sunbrella®, Outdura® and Tempotest® in a broad selection of colors and patterns. A protective cover is included for use when the umbrella is closed.
Specify the mounting or base system early in the layout process. Permanent mounting is recommended for Polaris LX. If the project calls for a freestanding installation, select an Infinity Base or stacked steel Z-Plate Base that meets the 700-pound minimum weight requirement.

Minimum base weight applies to freestanding installations. Select an Infinity Base or stacked Z-Plate configuration that meets or exceeds the required weight.
Polaris LX has a Wind Rating of 7, corresponding to 31–38 mph, when properly installed with a Shademaker mount kit and the canopy open and horizontal. This rating is a guideline, not a guarantee, and does not apply to freestanding bases. Use freestanding installations only in light winds, and never tilt the canopy in windy conditions. Close and secure the umbrella when winds increase or whenever it is unattended. Wind damage is not covered under warranty.
