The Shadowspec Serenity Cantilever Umbrella places its mast beside the canopy, leaving room beneath for dining or lounge furniture without a center pole. Tables don't need an umbrella hole, and seating can be arranged around the people using it rather than a central support. On restaurant terraces, hotel pool decks and residential patios, each umbrella can be positioned to serve an individual setting.
Hand-built in New Zealand, Serenity combines a heat-treated aluminum frame with 316-grade stainless steel components. Gas-assisted opening means less repetitive cranking for staff setting up several umbrellas each morning. Homeowners get the same easy operation when opening the patio for lunch or guests.
Serenity Canopy Sizes & Frame Finishes
A square canopy follows the lines of rectangular furniture arrangements, while an octagon gives a softer outline above circular tables or grouped lounge chairs. Choose the size around occupied seating, including chairs pulled back from the table, rather than the tabletop alone.

Serenity rotates 360°, allowing you to redirect shade toward exposed seats without moving the base. The canopy remains level rather than tilting. Consider the direction of low afternoon sun when choosing its location, particularly for west-facing dining areas or poolside seating used late in the day.
Serenity Canopy Fabrics
Solution-dyed acrylic fabric resists fading and provides water resistance and UV protection. Choose a neutral to coordinate with existing furnishings or an accent color to complement a venue's branding. For projects with several umbrellas, confirm fabric availability and lead times across the full order.

Integrated Lighting
The LED light is built into the canopy hub, so there's no separate fixture to attach or remove when closing the umbrella. For evening dining or poolside seating, choose an optional Smart Battery where a fixed electrical connection isn't practical or a compatible hardwire kit for a permanently powered installation. Power accessories are sold separately.
Serenity Mounting & Installation Planning
Allow space beside the furniture for the mast and mounting system without blocking chair movement or service routes. Check both the canopy's rotational sweep and its closing path: nearby walls, trees and furniture can affect where the umbrella will operate freely.
- In-ground anchor: For installation with a new concrete footing. Consider this option while planning paving or landscaping.
- Surface plate: For suitable existing decks, patios or concrete surfaces. Confirm the supporting structure before selecting fixings.
- Wall mount bracket: An alternative where ground mounting is impractical, subject to a suitable supporting wall.
- Freestanding base: For locations where permanent mounting isn't suitable. Include its footprint in the layout. Concrete pavers are required for ballast and are not included.
Fastenings are not supplied for the surface plate or wall mount bracket. Use the dimensions for your chosen canopy and mounting system when checking overhead and closed-canopy clearance; don't assume every size will retract above your furniture.
Optional castor wheels assist with repositioning a freestanding base on suitable surfaces. A protective cover is also available for use when the umbrella is closed.
Close and secure the canopy when winds increase or whenever Serenity is unattended. The rotational lock holds the mast in position; it doesn't make the umbrella suitable for all wind conditions.
