Shadowspec Unity Cantilever Umbrella

Details

The Shadowspec Unity Multi-Canopy Cantilever Umbrella shades adjacent tables or seating groups from a single mast. Supporting up to four canopies, it reduces the number of separate umbrella bases to accommodate among restaurant tables, poolside loungers or residential patio furniture. It's a coordinated alternative to individual umbrellas when several settings need shade.

Hand-built in New Zealand, Unity combines a heat-treated aluminum frame with 316-grade stainless steel components. Gas-assisted operation makes daily opening and closing easier for staff managing an outdoor dining area or homeowners preparing for guests. There's no crank to turn or winding cable to manage.

Unity Canopy Sizes & Configurations

Choose an Uno, Duo, Trio or Quattro with 8' or 10' square canopies. Match the arrangement to your furniture groups: two adjoining settings may call for a Duo, while tables positioned around a central support may suit a Trio or Quattro.

Configuration	Canopies	Individual Canopy Sizes	Typical Applications
Uno	1	8' or 10' square	One dining table or lounge group
Duo	2	8' or 10' square	Two adjacent dining or seating areas
Trio	3	8' or 10' square	Several furniture groups arranged around the mast
Quattro	4	8' or 10' square	Larger groupings of dining tables or lounge furniture

Sizes refer to each canopy, not the overall configuration. Canopy sizes are nominal manufacturer labels. Refer to configuration drawings for exact dimensions and the complete footprint.

Unity rotates 360°, allowing you to redirect shade as the sun moves without relocating the base. The canopies stay level rather than tilting, so placement matters if low afternoon sun is your main concern. Consider which seating areas need protection during your busiest service hours or the times you use the patio most.

Unity Canopy Fabrics

Solution-dyed acrylic fabric resists fading and provides water resistance and UV protection. Choose a neutral to coordinate with existing furniture or an accent color to complement a venue's branding. For installations with several umbrellas, confirm fabric availability and lead times across the full order.

Quick-Ship Colors: Oyster, Alpine Stone, Charcoal Tweed & Black
Special-Order Colors: Natural, Storm, Charcoal, Slate, Taupe, Fern, Linen, Sunflower Yellow, Captain Navy & Terracotta

Integrated Lighting

For terraces used from lunch through dinner, LED lighting beneath each canopy helps the setting transition into evening service without attaching separate fixtures to the frame. Choose optional Smart Batteries where a fixed electrical connection isn't practical; each canopy requires its own battery. A compatible hardwire kit is also available. The lights are built in, but the power accessories are sold separately.

Unity Mounting & Installation Planning

Position the support where chairs can pull out and staff can pass between occupied tables. On a residential patio, allow room between dining and lounge areas. Check clearance for the entire canopy arrangement to rotate without contacting walls, trees or neighboring umbrellas.

In-ground anchor: For installation with a new concrete footing. Consider this option while planning paving or landscaping.
Surface plate: For suitable existing decks, patios or concrete surfaces. Confirm the supporting structure before selecting fixings.
Wall mount bracket: An alternative where ground mounting is impractical, subject to a suitable supporting wall.
Freestanding base: For locations where permanent mounting isn't suitable. Include its footprint in the furniture plan. Concrete pavers are required for ballast and are not included.

Confirm mounting compatibility and ballast requirements for your selected configuration before ordering. Assembly is required, so include that work in your installation schedule.

Optional castor wheels assist with repositioning a freestanding base on suitable surfaces. Rain gutters help manage runoff between adjoining square canopies, while protective covers are available for use when the canopies are closed.

Close and secure the canopies when winds increase or whenever the umbrella is unattended. The rotational locking system holds the mast in position; it doesn't make Unity suitable for all wind conditions.

Shadowspec Trademarked Technologies

SHADOWLIFT™

A gas-assisted lifting mechanism helps counter the canopy's weight, reducing the effort needed to raise it.

SHADOWGLIDE™

The sliding mechanism guides the canopy along the mast. Working with Shadowlift™, it's engineered to open or close a canopy in three to five seconds.

SHADOWHUB™

The central hub houses an LED light. Pair it with the optional Smart Battery for app-controlled dimming to adjust illumination for dining or relaxed evening seating.

SHADOWLOCK™

The integrated mast lock secures the umbrella's rotational position once you've adjusted the canopy arrangement.
